Falun Gong, continued.

Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated in front of the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa, and Chinese Consulates across the country, on the 13th anniversary of their group's persecution by the Chinese government, on July 20, 2012.

The demonstrations in front of the embassy are usually small, with limited and awkward space in front of the building.


The RCMP park a couple SUVs in front of the Chinese Embassy gates and spend what looks like a fairly easy hour or two watching the peacful demonstrations from across two lanes of traffic.

The group spends about half their demonstration making speeches with a mic and big speakers, and the other half demonstrating their peaceful exercises to calming music.

The use of graphic imagery displayed during their demonstrations is something most passers by identify the group by. I have yet to formulate an opinion on the effectiveness of this tactic.

Here's an alternate shot of the gate behind the demonstration. I like the people in the previous frame, but I couldn't help but notice that the fire hydrant was sporting the blue and yellow of the Falun Gong group. Reaching for a picture here, perhaps. Nonetheless... a show of support.
